  • Overview

    Conducts most complex research and analysis for various products and processes. Assists in developing testing standards and methods to test various products and to develop quality control testing methodologies.

     

    Works Closely with; Troy Labs (Global), Purchasing (Raw Materials), R&D (Product Development), Sales (Customer Samples), Regulatory (Global, Product Registration)

    Responsibilities

    • Prepares various samples for analysis with respect to developing testing standards and methods, stability studies, chemical properties determinations quality, yields, other processes parameters, and other tests as required.
    • Propose new or enhanced analytical methods.
    • Validates and rewrites analytical methods.
    • Evaluates and analyzes customer, R&D, and production samples to ensure compliance with product specifications.
    • Prepares and evaluates data for generating product registrations in regulatory and customer-specific applications.
    • Participates in periodic analytical method review to confirm validation procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Initiates various forensic-style tests to investigate customer complaints or production deviations.
    • Conducts the most complex research into relationships between molecular, chemical and physical properties of substance and compounds.
    • Prepares various laboratory and technical reports for management review.
    • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written formats.
    • Attention to detail and documentation in maintaining laboratory notebook.
    • Keeps abreast of developments within the industry in order to share and maximize the transfer of knowledge and information with colleagues.
    • Comply with all safety procedures and policies

    Qualifications

    PhD degree in chemistry with 3-5 years analytical research work.

    B.S. or M.S. degree in chemistry with 7-10 years in analytical and/or QC work.

     

    Required in-depth experiences in HPLC (Reverse-Phase), GC (Capillary), FTIR (ATR Sampling Accessories), Titration (Karl-Fisher, Auto-titrator), Physical Testing (Viscosity, Melting Point, LOD / LOI, Color, SPG, Flash-Point, Laser-Scattering Particle-Size Analyzer)  and diverse Sample Preparation techniques (Quantitative Dilutions, Extractions, SPE, Soxhlet, Acid-digestion) and other Wet Chemical Analysis.

     

    Preferred experiences should include GC-MS, LC-MS, Atomic Spectroscopy (AA, XRF, ICP/DCP), UV-Vis Spectroscopy

     

    Must be familiar with basic GLP protocols, know how to check their own Data Quality, identify basic problems in HPLC and troubleshoot hardware issues (Air in the lines, clogged Inlet Filter, jammed Injection Syringe, dirty Column, etc).
